For marine workshops and boat builders
Every boat's job card, photos and updates, kept in one place.
Boats come in with a list of work, owners want to know how it's going, and every job ends with an invoice and a question or two later. We set up the job card, the updates and the record so they follow each boat through the yard.
The repeat bits in a marine workshop week
Opening a job card for each boat
The owner's details, the boat and the list of work go onto one job card when it comes in. No retyping later.
Quoting parts and labour
Your parts and labour list becomes a draft quote for the owner to accept online, after you've checked it.
Updating the owner
A short update with a photo at the points you choose: hauled out, parts in, work done, ready for pick-up.
Keeping proof of the work
Before-and-after photos and each step's sign-off stay with the boat's record, time-stamped and sealed for warranty.
Invoicing when it goes back in the water
The finished job card becomes a Xero invoice with the parts and hours on it.

Questions
Can owners see photos of the work?
Yes, if you'd like them to. Updates can include a photo, and the full record can be shared with the owner when the job's done.
Will it work in a wet, dusty shed?
It runs on a tablet you can put in a tough case, with big buttons, so gloves and wet hands aren't a problem. If it slows the team down, that's ours to fix.
We do a lot of quick repairs. Is it overkill?
Start smaller if so. Many workshops begin with just quotes or Xero invoicing, then add job records once they see it working.
Who owns the records?
You do. Export everything any time, in formats anyone can open.
